For Grown-Ups

Why The Mimlings exists, what we believe about stories for little kids, and the questions parents ask us most.

A Note from the Creator

I’m Sivan, creator of The Mimlings—an illustrator, animator, and graphic designer with a love for characters that feel alive and stories that stay with us.

My approach to storytelling is shaped by my academic studies in psychology and my experience as a mother of four. Over the years, I’ve seen how much can happen within a seemingly small childhood moment: a game that suddenly feels unfair, a plan that changes, or a feeling too big for words. Those everyday moments became the seeds of The Mimlings.

At the heart of this world is something I believe deeply: there’s a little Mimling in all of us. From childhood onward, our experiences, relationships, and discoveries shape who we become. The Mimlings’ sprouts give that idea a visible form—a reminder that we each grow in our own way, and that our differences are part of what makes us ourselves.

Produced at our independent animation studio, The Mimlings brings together thoughtful writing, distinctive design, and expressive animation. Each episode begins with something emotionally familiar and unfolds through imagination, humor, and adventure. The characters make mistakes, navigate differences, and discover new ways forward. Rather than pausing the story to explain a lesson, we leave room for children to make discoveries alongside them.

My vision is to build a lasting world of characters and stories that children connect with—on screen, on the page, and in their own imaginative play. A world that welcomes big feelings, makes room for different personalities, and finds joy in growing together.

I hope your family finds a little of itself here. Welcome to The Mimlings.

What we believe

Real moments, not invented problems

Every episode starts from something children actually go through — a game that goes wrong, a plan that falls apart, a feeling that refuses to stay hidden. Kids recognize themselves first, and laugh second.

Lessons from action, never speeches

Nobody pauses the story to explain the moral. The Mimlings try, get it wrong, try again — and the answer shows up in what they do, not in what anyone says.

Funny on two levels

Big physical comedy for the kids, a dry line or two for the grown-ups. The best family shows are the ones you're happy to watch together, and that's the bar.

A bright world with a gentle heart

The clearing is bursting with color and energy. Underneath it, the stories stay kind: no meanness, no villains — just five friends working things out.

Questions parents ask

What ages is The Mimlings for?

It's made for ages 3–7 — and it's warm and funny enough that older siblings and grown-ups tend to stay on the couch too.

Is it free to watch?

Yes — every episode is free on YouTube.

How often do new episodes come out?

We're a very small studio, so we choose care over speed. New episodes arrive every few weeks — join the Sprout Club and we'll tell you the moment one sprouts.

How is the show made?

Every story, line and joke is written and directed by Sivan R. Amedi — illustrator, animator and mother of four — at our independent studio. Each episode starts from real moments of childhood. Modern animation tools help us bring the clearing to life; the stories, the characters and the heart are entirely ours.

Is my child's data collected on this site?

No. This website is for parents and guardians. There are no accounts, no comments and no tracking ads. The only thing we ever collect is a grown-up's email (and a first name, if they choose to share it), given on purpose, with a double-confirmation step. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

Can I show The Mimlings in my classroom?

Please do! Teachers are very welcome. For screenings or anything bigger, just write to us.
